The doors opened Friday for the annual DIY fest known as Maker Faire Bay Area at the San Mateo County Event Center. About 125,000 are expected by the end of the show late Sunday afternoon.
More than 1,200 curated do-it-yourself art and science projects are spread over various indoors and outdoors areas. The accompanying photo gallery shows some of what this year's attendees will see.
