PHOTOS: See a restored mural on K Street in downtown Sacramento


Local officials attended an unveiling ceremony for a restored mural at 730 K St. on Monday.

The mural is displayed at a space in downtown Sacramento that was once Tower Records. Russ Solomon, who founded Tower Records, commissioned the mural and it was painted in 1973 by Frank Carson and Mitch Aaronson.

A group of local artists recently restored the mural. Those artists include Seamus Coutts, Shaun Burner, Franceska Julianna, Jeff Musser and Sophie Aaronson, who is Mitch Aaronson's daughter.
