Proposal to expand Ascension Seton hospital off 38th St. hits opposition


Some Central Texas neighbors are going head-to-head with hospital giant Ascension Seton, worried a bigger hospital will yield too much traffic in the area.

According to documents filed with Austin’s Planning Commission, the company wants to expand its Ascension Seton Medical Center in North Central Austin with a new cardiovascular wing along the West 38th Street frontage and a women’s and children’s tower along West 34th Street.
