Report: More than 5,000 nurses needed in Mass. hospitals as temp staffing costs skyrocket


Halfway through this fiscal year, Bay State hospitals have already spent $445 million to hire temporary nurses to fill vacancies, according to the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association, more than double what they spent in the entirety of fiscal 2020.
