Residential tower planned for Congress Avenue runs into concerns about historic building preservation


Plans to raise a new residential tower on Austin’s iconic Congress Avenue are taking shape, but a proposal to reuse several historic storefronts faces apprehension among members of the city's Historic Landmark Commission. Hear from the skeptical commissioners as well as the attorney representing the project at City Hall, who said, "Although we understand that we can't be all things to all people, we do believe our proposed development best aligns with all stakeholders involved as our city continues to grow."
