A couple of restaurant closures in uptown Charlotte made waves in recent weeks.
First, Cantina 1511 shuttered its doors at the corner of Fifth and College streets during the last weekend in September. Open for less than a year, the contemporary Mexican restaurant cited slower traffic, ongoing staffing issues and its large amount of square footage in uptown as factors behind the closure.
