San Francisco tech sector keeps growing, but Seattle added more than twice as many jobs during the past two years


San Francisco and Silicon Valley are the nation’s tech capital, but Seattle is leaving both behind in new job creation.

Seattle saw more than 33,000 new tech jobs in 2016 and 2017 — more than double San Francisco’s during the same time period.

The Emerald City now leads the nation for the most tech job growth with 25.7 percent in 2016 and 2017, according to a recent report from commercial brokerage firm CBRE that analyzed the tech sector's influence on the top 30 U.S. office markets.
