Santa Clara County to buy two struggling South Bay hospitals out of bankruptcy


Santa Clara County is buying two financially struggling local hospitals out of bankruptcy for $235 million, adding to the capacity of overcrowded county facilities, the Mercury News reports.

The county was the sole and winning bidder at a bankruptcy auction on Friday for Verity Health System's O’Connor Hospital in San Jose and St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, which includes the De Paul Health Center in Morgan Hill.
