Spend Saturday experiencing life at The Reserve at Green Valley Ranch

Corey Kemp wants to share a secret: This isn’t your average grand opening, where you take a quick tour with salespeople who tell you that you can look, but don’t touch. How can you get to know a community or experience the lifestyle on a hurried tour?

“Most people don’t even know what an Active Adult community is, let alone how their lives can be transformed by joining such a unique 55+ community like The Reserve,” says Kemp, OakwoodLife marketing manager.

“We think once you experience it, you’ll say, ‘I want to live in a community like that.'”

And she wants to prove what she’s saying by inviting Denver-area residents ages 55-plus to experience an entire day at The Reserve, Aurora’s newest active adult community, so you can truly experience what life would be like if you lived here.

Discover all the amenities at the community, including the 10,000-square-foot Clubhouse, The Farmhouse, during The Reserve’s grand opening event from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.

From noon to 6 p.m., you can:

Take a fitness class.
Learn to play pickleball or bocce ball.
Run, walk, or bike on the miles of trails.
Grab lunch at the food truck.
Learn poker strategy in the game room.
Practice your swing in the golf simulator with Keith Rogers, teaching pro at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.
At 3, 4, and 5 p.m., it’s Martini Time. Famed bartender Johnny Welsh leads hands-on martini seminars so you can make perfect martinis at home.
At 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30 p.m., join a cooking class to learn quick and delicious recipes with acclaimed Chef Randy Heltsley.
And register to win prizes with every activity!

But your day isn’t over yet! From 6 to 8 p.m., The Reserve is throwing the party of the season. Join the poolside luau, complete with tropical cocktails, fire performers, live music, hula dancers, and an authentic Hawaiian spit roast.

The price for the luau is a $20 per couple donation to the BuildStrong Academy of Colorado, a non-profit that helps students build careers in construction by providing hands-on learning, job placement, and mentoring. Donate before the event or bring cash or a check to donate at the door.
