John Downs spent almost three decades putting together one of the top agricultural and ranching operations in the Southeast.

Now, as he looks to scale back and concentrate on his bull breeding business, almost 10,000 acres of land in the Florida Panhandle is up for auction.

The property — including a pond on the National Register of Historic Places, a haunted bridge, nine houses and a large-scale cattle operation — can be bid on until Oct. 24.
