Nearly 1,000 Kaiser Pemanente workers took to the picket line in front of Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, Oregon, on Wednesday, and union officials expected a similar turnout on Thursday.
The workers, who fill a variety of key support roles for the giant health system, are part of the largest health-care strike in U.S. history, with 75,000 walking off the job this week over safe staffing levels and wages.
