SunTrust moving forward on downtown move, despite merger


Despite SunTrust Banks Inc. recent merger with BB&T Corp., the Atlanta-based company will still move ahead on its plan to move its Jacksonville offices from its namesake location at the corner of Independent Drive and Laura Street to the Bank of America tower.

SunTrust signed a lease for 18,100 square feet of space at 50 N. Laura St. in the fall. Plans called for SunTrust to move locations this summer, about a year after VyStar Credit Union purchased the bank's tower.
