Surgical communication platform raises $4.2 million seed round


A cloud platform that enhances communication best practices for surgical teams has raised $4.2 million in seed funding.

New York City-based Chiefy, led by CEO Maya Ber Lerner, is a platform that enables pre-operative huddles for surgical teams rather than them having to rely on emails, text messages, and phones calls to share information.

The company said that communication breakdown is the leading factor in serious medical errors, and that more than $50 billion is wasted over the 300 million surgeries…
