When Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) announced it will do away with single-use straws by 2020, it was riding a wave of anti-straw sentiment that's swept the nation (and Denver) in response to the environmental impact disposed straws (and single-use plastic in general) are having on the environment. Denver Business Journal editorial intern Seth Bodine talked to Marilyn Megenity, the owner of Denver's Mercury Cafe, which has had sustainable practices in place since its founding in 1975.
