In January, St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch selected a joint proposal from the Tampa Bay Rays and Hines to redevelop the Tropicana Field site into a mixed-use district anchored by a ballpark. Now, the team has a deal with the city of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County for the project.
