The Next Chapter: Forgoing the bird


Growing up, we alternated from one grandparent’s house to the next. Every year, we would get in the car, travel and have turkey and mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, rolls, broccoli casserole. The list goes on and on as did the overflowing tables of food.

When I married, we carried the tradition forward, but as the years have continued and I’ve noticed how much food goes to waste, I have often wondered, why are we doing this? Why are we making a meal that is overindulgent…
