Twin Cities homebuilding hits lowest point in past 12 months


Homebuilding in the Twin Cities has dropped to its lowest point in the past 12 months, according to data on permits pulled last month.

While permits for multifamily construction, for units like apartments and townhomes, saw a modest increase, those for single-family homes saw a 28% decline last month compared to August of last year, according to data compiled by Keystone Report on behalf of Housing First Minnesota, the state’s homebuilders trade group.
