U.S. Bancorp case will go before Supreme Court next session

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday said it would hear arguments next term over whether to revive a class-action lawsuit against U.S. Bancorp over the bank's handling of an employee pension plan.

Reuters has a report on the move by the court, which agreed to hear an appeal by beneficiaries of U.S. Bank's pension plan who charged that U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB) pursued an overly risky investment strategy that, during the 2008 financial crisis, led to nearly $750 million in losses.
