UAB researchers land funding to combat HIV


Researchers at the UAB Center for AIDS Research have received three one-year supplemental awards totaling $300,000 from the National Institutes of Health. The award is intended to help carry out the Ending the HIV Epidemic agenda set by the White House to increase the treatment and prevention of HIV.

The awards themselves are intended to help develop plans for diagnosing, treating and preventing HIV in local communities. The award recipients are Lynn Matthews and Latesha Elopre.
