UnitedHealth pauses plan to sell Brazilian insurer Amil


UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE: UNH) is reportedly shelving a plan to sell its Brazilian insurance business Amil, which it bought a decade ago for nearly $5 billion.

Reuters, citing undisclosed sources familiar with the situation, said that Minnetonka-based insurance giant has been trying to unload Amil for months, even offering to take a loss on the sale.
