Viewpoint: Bill would harm citizens’ health, retailers’ businesses


Would Massachusetts citizens be safer with tea and fiber supplements locked up behind retail counters? Our legislators certainly think so. Their misguided bill, Massachusetts H4271, aims to restrict access to dietary supplements for weight loss, muscle building, and over-the-counter diet pills by having retailers lock these products behind the counter, making them accessible only by supervisory personnel verifying customers as 18 or older.
