Wells Fargo, TCF, U.S. Bank charge highest college student fees, federal report says


Minnesota may be the costliest place in the country to be a student with a bank account. The state's three largest banks lead the country in average fees charged to students, according to a newly released government report.

The Detroit Free Press has details on the study from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which found that Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) charged the most for fees during one year — an overage of $46.99 per active account.
