Already an accomplished young scientist in the United Kingdom before he jumped into entrepreneurship, Fred Turner applied genomic testing to endeavors from raising cattle to diagnosing sexually transmitted diseases under various company names. He was accepted to the prestigious Silicon Valley startup accelerator Y Combinator and raised a few million dollars in venture capital. Turner and a co-founder were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30.
