With the Crew set to break ground on its new stadium, questions remain about status of land deal


Columbus Crew SC is just weeks away from plunging shovels into the dirt for its new $233 million Arena District stadium, with the team touting the Oct. 10 groundbreaking as an “historic Columbus moment.”

But questions remain about the deal between the Crew's ownership group (led by the owners of the Cleveland Browns and the family of a longtime team physician) and Nationwide Realty Investors Ltd., the current owner of most of the land for the 420,000-square-foot stadium.
