Year in Review 2018: Community banks fight back


Throughout 2018 it seemed like community banks were waging war on Greater Baltimore's biggest banks.

Some of the region's community banks closed acquisitions they began the prior year to get bigger. As 2018 wore on, community banks continued to make deals to enter or expand in the market. Each time the CEOs of those banks cited industry consolidation and an "anti-big bank sentiment" as part of the opportunity they see in the region.
