26-story JW Marriott tops out in Water Street Tampa


The first building to begin vertical construction in Water Street Tampa has reached a major milestone.

The 26-story JW Marriott, under construction on what was previously Amalie Arena's silver lot, celebrated its topping out on Wednesday, developer Strategic Property Partners said.

The hotel, the first JW Marriott in Tampa Bay, has reached its full height of 291 feet, SPP said. It includes 519 hotel rooms and a 26th-story indoor/outdoor rooftop venue space. Completion is expected in late 2020.…
