Mayor Catherine Pugh on Thursday vowed to keep writing children's books in a defensive and detailed statement amid an ongoing controversy over a $500,000 book deal she struck with the University of Maryland Medical System.
"I plan to keep working to improve the health of children in our city, and I will keep writing – with this experience in mind," Pugh said in the statement released by her office a day after she told The Sun the crisis amounted to a "witch hunt."
