Alabama Senate passes medical marijuana bill


One day after the Alabama Senate debated but took no vote on a medical marijuana bill, senators quickly passed a bill on Thursday morning.

According to WSFA, the Senate passed the bill with a 17-6 margin. It now moves on to the Alabama House.

The bill was sponsored by Sen Tim Melson of Florence.

Among other provisions, it would create an oversight commission and would create a process for prescription of marijuana for several conditions. It would require recommendations from two doctors before…
