Austin scraps parking requirements as it targets affordability, reliance on public transit


Austin City Council has made a major change to its existing land use restrictions that's welcomed news to developers and housing activists. Following months of consideration, the city has lifted the standard parking requirements for new construction, which gives developers the power to determine how much parking they need.
