Blackstone Group, which paid more than $1 billion at the beginning of 2018 to buy the Grand Wailea resort, is continuing its Hawaii buying spree this year with the acquisition of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua on Maui.
The purchase price is unknown. A spokeswoman for New York-based Blackstone (NYSE: BX) declined to comment on the deal, but the company recently registered a new business in Hawaii, Bre RC Maui Kapalua LLC, ostensibly for the purchase.
