Another restaurant is closing its doors as the new year gets underway.

Kristy Rather is shutting down Tillie’s Southern Kitchen in Hueytown but will keep its catering business open.

“Back in the summer, I became quite ill and had to make some serious life adjustments,” Rather wrote in a Facebook post. “Afterwards, the restaurant was burglarized and we closed for over a month. Wegmans has begun the process of finding 475 employees to staff the grocery chain’s new location on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh, expected to open in the fall.

The store, part of Wegmans' growing footprint in the Southeast, is one of five being planned in the Triangle and is on track to be the first to open, according to an announcement from the company.

Of the new jobs created at the Wegmans location, 150 will be full-time and a majority will be local hires, according to the company.

Cities Grill and Bar on South Stratford Road in Winston-Salem has closed, according to a report in the Winston-Salem Journal.

The report says a sign on the door says “Cities Grill & Bar is permanently closed. We are grateful for many years of business and support. Thank you!” Signs on the building and at the street were gone this week, too, the newspaper says.

Cities opened in 2000, the Journal says. Its Facebook page shows that it was open as recently as Dec. 31.

Whole Foods Market plans to pilot pasta bars at three Northern California locations this year, including its Roseville store.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio implored Florida’s new governor Tuesday to start spreading disaster-relief money approved nearly a year ago to address massive citrus-industry damage from Hurricane Irma in 2017.
