Popular Forest Park restaurant to open for dinner in July
Whistling Table is gearing up to open for dinner service.
The highly anticipated restaurant opened for lunch in June in the former V. Richards spot on Clairmont Avenue in the Forest Park neighborhood.
Now, owner and operator Mac Russell will open his doors to dinner guests in mid-July.
Russell previously operated Shindigs catering and food truck, and now his dream of opening a brick-and-mortar location has come to fruition.

Good ol’ bud now makes up less than half of Oregon retail cannabis sales
Everything starts with the plant, but when it comes to Oregon retail sales, the money is increasingly in cannabis in different forms.
The research firm BDS Analytics reports that flower declined from 54 percent of dispensary sales in Oregon in the first quarter of 2017 to 44 percent in the first quarter this year.
Bud gave ground to concentrates, which rose from 21 percent to 27 percent of the market, and edibles, which rose from 11 percent to 16 percent of sales.

Year-old restaurant in Evelyn’s Park in Bellaire closes
The Ivy & James, a cafe inside Evelyn’s Park, served its last meal on June 30, according to a press release from Evelyn’s Park Conservancy.
The cafe opened in May 2017, shortly after the 5-acre park opened at 4400 Bellaire Blvd. in Bellaire. The conservancy had selected Zelko Concepts to oversee the eatery, which was a partnership between chef Jamie Zelko, Dalia Zelko and Edgardo de la Garza.
