Texas-style barbecue restaurant opens in Mountain Brook
A new Texas-style barbecue restaurant is bringing slow-smoked brisket to Mountain Brook.
Icehouse has opened its doors in the Spitfire Building in Mountain Brook Village.
The restaurant offers pulled pork, smoked turkey, smoked sausage and barbecue bologna, in addition to barbecue tacos, brisket or pork nachos, West Texas wedge salad, and house chips and queso. Sides include German potato salad, creamed corn and spicy pinto beans. Desserts include pecan pie and Texas sheet cake.

With an opening date set for June 29, Big Rivers Waterpark is expected to hire a couple hundred employees.

Chili’s reports possible payment data breach
Patrons who visited certain Chili’s Grill & Bar locations between March and April may have had their payment card information compromised, the Dallas-based chain announced over the weekend.
Chili’s, which is owned by Brinker International (NYSE: EAT), said it is assessing the scope of the incident, which impacted guests who visited some of its corporately-owned stores. It did not specify which stores may have been affected.

Here’s when Metro Diner opens in South Tampa
Metro Diner, the Tampa-based restaurant chain best known for its platters of Middle American comfort food, is opening its first location in its home base.

Owner of 22 Arizona Applebee’s files for bankruptcy
RMH Franchise Holdings, Inc., a major owner of Applebee’s Grill and Bar franchises, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection May 8, according to court documents.
The company, which has offices in Atlanta and Lincoln, Nebraska, owns more than 160 Applebee’s restaurants in 15 states, including 22 in Arizona. RMH Holdings owns 8 percent of all the Applebee’s worldwide.
