Austin-area Wealthiest ZIP Codes
The 2022 list of Austin's wealthiest ZIP codes ranks the median income of households in the five counties that make up the Austin area: Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell. Data provided by ABJ parent company, American City Business Journals, using 2020 census data estimates. Statistics based upon the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) for 2020. Wealthiest ZIPs can be found from the city to the suburbs and extending out into rural areas. Some rankings may even be surprising. For example, certain affluent neighborhoods, such as downtown's 78701 (no. 8) and SoCo's 78704 (no. 43), did not rank as high as would have been expected. This is often due to high number of rentals verses owner-occupied homes.
