Essex Property Trust makes C-suite changes
The retirement of a longtime executive is leading to changes at San Mateo-based Essex Property Trust (NYSE: ESS).
Craig Zimmerman, the apartment developer's executive vice president and co-chief investment officer, will retire later this year, the company said on Thursday. Adam Berry, the co-chief investment officer, will continue in the role.

Single-family home sales, prices jump on Hawaii Island in August
Sales of single-family homes on Hawaii Island jumped by 22% in August, compared to last year, and the median price rose 13%, while condominium sales and prices both declined for the month, according to statistics provided by Hawaii Information Service on behalf of Hawaii Island Realtors.
The median price of a single-family home on Hawaii Island in August was $400,000, an increase of 12.68% from $355,000 in August 2018.

Kauai condo prices jump 32% in August as sales drop
The median price of a condominium on Kauai soared by 32% last month even as sales dropped, compared to a year ago, while single-family home prices declined, according to statistics from Hawaii Information Service on behalf of the Kauai Board of Realtors.
The median price of a single-family home on Kauai in August was $657,000, a decline of 5.47% from $695,000 in August 2018. That was based on sales of 54 homes, a slight increase of 1.89% from 53 homes sold during the same month last year.
