Hawaii real estate company Alexander & Baldwin reported a net loss of $136.6 million, or $1.90 per share, in the fourth quarter, compared to net income of $212.2 million, or $3.42 per share, for the same quarter in 2017.
Honolulu-based Alexander & Baldwin (NYSE: ALEX) posted a net loss of $72 million, or $1.02 per share, for the full year in 2018, compared to net income of $230.1 million, or $4.34 per share, for all of 2017.

Developer behind Aliana unveils plans for another 2,200-acre community near Houston
Houston-based Airia Development Co., formerly known as Aliana Development Co., finally has announced plans for its first project since rebranding a year ago.
Artavia — pronounced arr-tah-VEE-a — will be a 2,200-acre master-planned community north of Houston, according to a press release. It will be directly south of State Highway 242 and midway between Interstate 45 and Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59.

Pre-leasing underway at University-area multifamily project
Charlotte-based Crescent Communities has begun pre-leasing another multifamily development in the local market.
Novel Research Park, at the intersection of West Mallard Creek Church Road and Senator Royall Place, is now leasing, according to Crescent. The 280-unit, garden-style development is something of a second multifamily phase for Crescent at the site, which delivered what was formerly called Crescent Alexander Village in 2013 adjacent to Novel Research Park.

A mansion on Sunset Islands in Miami Beach sold for $21.8 million.
The 11,296-square-foot home at 1600 W. 25th St. was sold by 1600 West 25th Street LLLP, managed by luxury homebuilder Bart Reines, to Coral Gables-based 1600 W 25th LLC. The buyer is a Delaware-registered company and it’s not clear who owns it.
The price equated to $1,929 per square foot.
