Hawaii cuts price for state’s affordable housing portfolio by $40M
The Hawaii Housing Finance Development Corp. has approved a modification to the sale of the state’s affordable housing portfolio to a partnership of Stanford Carr Development and Standard Property Co. that discounts the purchase price by $40 million but increases the amount of money the buyers will spend to renovate the six properties by $31.2 million.

A quick look at three Valley commercial real estate deals from the past week:
Mountain View Marketplace, a shopping center that includes a vacant Safeway store that will soon be a VASA Fitness, sold for $8.3 million.
The center, located at 3131 E. Thunderbird Road in Phoenix, was bought by Fortis Development LLC from Mountain View Shopping Plaza L.P. Brian Gast of Velocity Retail Group represented the buyer in the transaction.

Fred’s emails add evidence of Dallas move
Some Fred’s employees are now sporting email signatures that feature a new office address — in Dallas.
The Memphis Business Journal recently obtained the emails of “category leader” employees for the general merchandise and pharmacy chain; those emails listed 2001 Bryan Street in Dallas, Texas, as part of their signature.
