Mark Zuckerberg pledges $250,000 to fix California housing crisis Facebook helped create
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is donating $250,000 to a November ballot measure that would raise $4 billion in bonds to help solve California’s housing crisis.
Zuckerberg’s Palo Alto, California-based nonprofit, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, is giving the money to Affordable Housing Now, a political action committee formed by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Housing California, the California Housing Consortium and the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California.

Toyota HQ employees in Plano face highest housing costs in DFW, study finds
Toyota employees relocating to work at the auto giant’s new North American headquarters in Plano face the highest price in the region to live near their corporate campus, with median sale prices in the area hitting $289,000, according to a study released Tuesday by buying platform Open Listings.
The study also pegs the average employee salary at Toyota’s headquarters in Plano at $110,244, meaning employees pay an average of 18 percent of their paycheck to live within 20 minutes of work.

Defense contractor using Phoenix office building to house immigrant children
A midtown Phoenix office building is being used by a federal defense contractor to house immigrant children, according to the California-based Center for Investigative Reporting.

The Blackstone Group LP, a multinational private equity firm, has bought the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa on San Antonio's North Side for just under $650 million, according to Real Estate Alert.
