Silicon Valley unicorn makes key buy to help reinvent how housing is built
Construction startup Katerra Inc. this week added what it hopes will be a key piece of its plan to reinvent how housing gets built.
The Menlo Park company on Wednesday said it used some of the $1.1 billion it's raised to buy Michael Green Architecture Inc. (MGA), a Vancouver-based pioneer of tall timber construction.
This method of construction is seen as a greener way to build multistory projects from the cross-laminated timber that Katerra plans to make at a new plant in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Precourt Sports Ventures has released conceptual renderings for a potential soccer stadium at McKalla Place.

Dallas-based Coca-Cola bottler to build $250M facility
Dallas-based Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, a subsidiary of Mexico-based Coca-Cola bottler Arca Continental, will build a new production and distribution facility in Houston.
The facility will be nearly 1 million square feet, and the project will cost about $250 million, according to a press release. It will be the first Coca-Cola production plant built in the U.S. in 10 years, per the release. Information about the architect and general contractor were not immediately available.

Brookfield law firm moving to downtown Milwaukee
The Two-Fifty East Wisconsin office building landed two new law firm tenants this month, including Litchfield Cavo LLP, which is moving to downtown Milwaukee from Brookfield.
Litchfield Cavo, which has its local offices in the Bishop’s Woods business park along Bluemound Road, leased 4,000 square feet at Two-Fifty, according to a Thursday announcement from the building’s owner. The firm will move in September.
