A special report in The Tennessean this weekend explores an increase in the number of deaths at Nashville-area construction sites.

Based on an analysis of state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration data, The Tennessean found that 16 construction workers died in the Nashville metropolitan area in 2016 and 2017, which the paper’s analysis found to be “the deadliest two-year stretch in more than three decades.”
