Chapel Hill’s Sugarland, owners file Chapter 7 bankruptcy

A Chapel Hill bakery has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Sugarland, which also operated a now-closed storefront in Raleigh's Cameron Village, filed for bankruptcy Wednesday, listing assets of less than $50,000. That's as debts fall between $50,000 and $100,000, according to the filing.

The bakery's owners, Randolph and Katrina Ryan, filed for individual Chapter 7 bankruptcy Tuesday. Court documents associated with that filing note that "no property appears to be available to pay creditors."
