Chianti wines shine with food


Chianti wines at one point had a bad reputation as the wicker-covered bottle in dark Italian restaurants that seemed to be best served as a candle-holder rather than known for the liquid inside. That’s unfortunate, as they are some of the most versatile and tasty wines around.

Wines from Chianti, which is an area of the Tuscany region of Italy, are very food-friendly and include value wines with wide appeal, all the way up to world-class quality reds that are complex and intense.
