Tragedy struck yesterday when a fast-moving wildfire killed least 36 people in Maui and completely decimated Lahaina, the historic waterfront town that was once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom. San Francisco Mayor London Breed was on the island as the wildfires raged and she was transported to Honolulu on Wednesday. Supervisor Catherine Stefani is currently the city’s acting mayor.
