Dream Homes: Storied Summit Hill mansion on the market for $1.7 million


A historic mansion St. Paul's Summit Hill neighborhood is now on the market for $1.7 million.

Oliver Crosby, who founded St. Paul-based American Hoist and Derrick in 1884, built the mansion that's for sale. To create it, he worked with noted Minnesota architect Clarence Johnston, whose designs included many buildings on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus, such as the Northrop Auditorium and Walter Library. His work also includes the Glensheen Mansion, a historic estate in Duluth.
