Elderwood owners plan specialty regional pediatric unit in Rochester


Elderwood’s owners are working on a deal with the University of Rochester to open a new children’s specialty hospital to serve patients from Buffalo to Syracuse.

The New York City company has acquired land in Rochester and will soon be filing a certificate-of-need application with the state to develop the site near Strong Memorial Hospital, which will include specialty pediatric ventilator services similar to a site it operates in Pennsylvania.
