Exclusive: Former 7-story UMB Bank tower in downtown KCK may see new life as apartments, office


An architect in Kansas City, Kansas, saw a glimmer of potential in the area's historic UMB Bank tower, which now may lead to the building's redevelopment.

On his daily commute, Travis Wilson, a principal and owner of Veritas Architecture + Design, always noticed the building at 601 Minnesota Ave. It first sparked the firm's interest in 2018, when it considered setting up its office on one of the bottom floors of the the 60,000-square-foot tower.
