Fire temporarily shuts down award-winning Minneapolis restaurant Owamni


James Beard Award-winning restaurant Owamni is temporarily closed after a Wednesday afternoon electrical fire.

Diners and staff evacuated the riverfront building, owned by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, when it filled with smoke, but no injuries were reported. The fire affected the bottom level of the historic building on the banks of the Mississippi River, according to the restaurant's Facebook post.
