Global company opens first Colorado hotel near Denver airport

Those staying near the Denver International Airport will have a new hotel option: the city’s first Atwell Suites.

IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global hotel company with well-known brands like Holiday Inn, InterContinental and more, is opening the 96-room property Thursday. Atwell Suites Denver Airport – Tower Road at 18350 East 65th Ave. is the brand’s second property.

“With close proximity to the airport, we know its convenient location along with the property’s flexible design will appeal to both business and leisure travelers looking for a fulfilling experience,” said hotel owner Kendall Combs from KJ Hotel Properties, adding that their team has worked with IHG for more than two decades.

It’ll join the crowd of other hotels on Tower Road, including Hyatt House Denver Airport, Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver International Airport and Quality Inn & Suites Denver International Airport. They’re all situated within a 15-minute drive from the airport.

Atwell Suites offers studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, with a fitness studio and coworking spaces. A stay includes complimentary breakfast, on-site parking and free access to a beverage station with an espresso machine. Guests can socialize at the hotel bar or meet at monthly themed events.

A feature by the brand is the Morse Code phrases hidden throughout the artwork on the property. The hotel provides guests with a decoder to unravel the messages.

IHG first announced the construction of the new Denver hotel last May, following suit after Atwell Suites Miami Brickell.

“We congratulate KJ Hotel Properties for being the first to bring this dynamic brand to Colorado and look forward to welcoming guests to the Mile High City,” said Karen Gilbride, vice president of Avid Hotels and Atwell Suites at IHG.
