Samuel Hiatt was working at Sonic in Nashville when his boss got involved with Crumbl Cookies, the Utah-based cookie franchise.
"We looked at which markets were still available," he said. "Memphis was available."
Memphis was not only available; it was ready.
The first area Memphis Crumbl store opened at 705 S. Mendenhall Road in the Williamsburg Shopping Center about a year ago. That location has since become one of the best-performing Crumbls in the country.
