Home ownership a fading hope for many in North Texas


Jesus Varela couldn’t be prouder of the red brick house he’s buying in the Jubilee Park neighborhood southeast of downtown Dallas.

“I’m real happy,” said Varela, whose family moved into the four-bedroom home in April. “I have a real, real nice house. I like the neighborhood because everybody is real nice.”
